Faith is not merely a feeling—it’s a decision, often made in the face of fear, uncertainty, and loss. In Hebrews 11:23–29, we see this truth embodied in the life of Moses. His story begins with the courageous faith of his parents, Amram and Jochebed, who defied Pharaoh’s deadly decree because they trusted in a greater power than any ruler on earth. By placing their infant son into the Nile, they were not abandoning him—they were entrusting him into the hands of the living God. That same courageous faith would later define Moses’ own destiny.

Raised in Pharaoh’s palace and surrounded by wealth, education, and privilege, Moses had everything this world could offer. Yet when the moment of decision came, he chose differently. He refused Egypt’s temporary pleasures and embraced the suffering of God’s people, making a deliberate, eternal decision that shaped history. He “considered the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt,” because his eyes were fixed not on what fades—but on what lasts forever.

True faith always involves choices—costly, defining choices. It means turning away from what glitters to grasp what endures. Moses chose the unseen over the visible, obedience over comfort, and eternal reward over earthly gain. His faith carried him through the first Passover and across the Red Sea, revealing a timeless truth: there is no deliverance, no salvation, and no hope apart from the blood of the Lamb. Every one of us stands at that same crossroads today. Will we cling to the fleeting security of this world, or trust in the saving power of Jesus Christ? Faith decides—no matter the cost.
