Genesis 7:6-16
On the day the flood came, time ran out for a world that had ignored God’s warnings. For 120 years, Noah faithfully proclaimed God’s message, yet the people mocked, dismissed, and disbelieved. Then, the long-suffering patience of God gave way to His perfect justice. The fountains of the deep burst open, the skies poured down relentless rain, and the earth trembled beneath the weight of divine holiness. Yet even in the midst of judgment, mercy was available — an ark, built by faith and sealed by God’s own hand, became a refuge for Noah and his family.
This story is more than history; it is a living parable for every generation. The flood foreshadows the coming return of Christ, reminding us that salvation is found in obedience and trust. Just as Noah and his household were safe within the ark, we too find security only in Christ, the eternal refuge for every heart that calls upon Him. Every detail underscores God’s sovereignty — the timing, the command, the protection — all unfolding according to His perfect plan.
Today, the door of mercy remains open. The rains have not yet fallen, and the ark of salvation stands ready. But one day, the door will close, and only those who enter through faith will be saved. How will you respond to God’s invitation today? Will you step inside the safety of His provision before it is too late? In a world rushing toward judgment, the call is urgent: trust, obey, and find refuge in Christ while there is still time.
