John 2:1-11
When the wine ran out at the wedding in Cana, hope seemed to fade—but Jesus was present, ready to reveal His glory. In His first public miracle, turning water into wine, we see more than compassion; we see a glimpse of His divine power and a reminder that He transforms what seems ordinary or insufficient into something extraordinary. The same Jesus who filled jars with wine now fills empty hearts with grace, purpose, and joy.
This story encourages us to bring our limited resources, our doubts, and even our weariness to Him. What feels inadequate in our hands becomes miraculous in His. Just as He saved the best wine for last, He promises that His timing and provision are perfect, and the best in our lives is yet to come. Our waiting and trials are often the prelude to His glory being revealed.
Obedience plays a role in experiencing His miracles. Like the servants at the feast, when we follow His instructions, even in small ways, we participate in the unfolding of His work. Each empty jar, each moment of seeming lack, becomes an opportunity for Him to demonstrate His grace and abundance.
How might we bring what feels insufficient to Jesus today, trusting Him to transform it for His glory? In what ways is He inviting us to participate in the miracle of His work, even in the ordinary rhythms of life? He continues to whisper: the best is yet to come.
