Matthew 5:17-20
In a world where truth and morality seems to shift with every passing trend, Jesus’ words remain steadfast and unchanging. He declares that He did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. God’s Word is not a set of outdated rules or restrictions—it is the living expression of His heart, revealed through Christ. The Law was never intended to imprison us, but to guide us toward the freedom found in the Savior who perfectly embodies it.
While the Law reveals God’s righteous standard, grace reveals His provision. Throughout history, humanity has sought righteousness through rules, rituals, and self-effort, yet always falls short. Jesus did not destroy that standard; He embodied it. Every prophecy, sacrifice, and command reaches its fulfillment in Him. What once felt burdensome now leads to life, because in Christ, the Law’s demands are met and its justice accomplished.
Today, the Law is written not on stone but on the hearts of those redeemed by His grace. This freedom is not a license to sin, but an invitation to love God wholly with heart, soul, and strength. True righteousness flows from a transformed heart, not outward performance. Jesus fulfilled the Law so we might walk in freedom, guided not by condemnation but by the One who redeems. How can we let His fulfillment of the Law shape the way we live today?
