1 Timothy 6:11-21
Paul closes his letter with a powerful call to action, challenging Timothy—and all believers—to pursue a faith marked by perseverance and purpose. He urges us to flee the traps of false teaching and worldly pride, and to chase righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. This is not a passive faith; it is an active, daily struggle for truth, lived with humility and conviction in a world that often rejects God’s Word.
To follow Christ faithfully is to live with an eternal perspective. Paul reminds Timothy that the “good fight” is not won with force or anger but through steadfast endurance, unwavering integrity, and devotion to Christ. Like an athlete pushing through pain or a soldier holding the line, believers are called to press on even when the cost is high, guarding the truth entrusted to them and holding fast to the hope of eternal life.
Yet amid the struggle, Paul lifts our eyes to the ultimate source of strength: the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who dwells in unapproachable light. Our fight is fueled by hope because the King is coming. Until His return, we are called to invest in what truly matters—our time, resources, and influence—for the sake of eternity. Grace sustains the fight, empowers our endurance, and will one day bring us home. Keep running, keep fighting, and keep the faith, for the victory belongs to Christ alone. How might embracing this eternal perspective change the way you face life’s daily battles?
