Acts 13:24-41
In Acts 13:24–41, Paul proclaims the central story of Scripture: from Genesis to Revelation, the Bible points to one truth—the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. From God’s promises to Abraham, to Isaiah’s prophecies, to David’s songs, every page points to the spotless Lamb who came to take away the sins of the world. Long before Bethlehem and the cross, redemption was planned in eternity and revealed through God’s Word.
In his sermon at Pisidian Antioch, Paul emphasizes that Jesus was never an afterthought or a response to human sin. He was the divine plan from the beginning. The sacrifices and rituals of the Old Testament were shadows, pointing to the perfect sacrifice—the Son of God, who came to do the Father’s will. Through His obedience, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled every prophecy, breaking the curse of sin and death forever.
Even the rejection of Christ by Israel’s leaders was part of God’s sovereign plan—foretold in Scripture that He would be despised, pierced, and buried, yet rise in victory. Paul presents the resurrection as the ultimate proof: Jesus is the promised Son of David, the eternal King whose reign will never end. Through Him alone, forgiveness is offered, guilt is removed, judgment is lifted, and reconciliation with God is secured.
Paul’s question to his hearers continues to challenge us today: Will you believe the message written in the scroll of the book? God’s promises never fail, and His Word endures forever. The Lamb who was slain now reigns in glory, and every believer will one day behold Him face to face. How will you respond to the story God has written in eternity?
