John 20:19-29
In John 20:19–29, the risen Jesus enters a room of fear and doubt, standing among His disciples and offering words that still resonate today: “Peace be with you.” The resurrection is not merely history; it is the divine proclamation that sin is defeated, death has lost its sting, and eternal life is secured for all who believe. Even in their fear, Jesus meets His followers with grace, transforming their uncertainty into peace and assurance.
Thomas, the one called the Twin, represents every heart that struggles with doubt. When told of Christ’s resurrection, he demanded tangible proof. A week later, Jesus returns—not to scold, but to restore faith. “Reach here your finger… be not unbelieving, but believing.” In that encounter, doubt is replaced by revelation, and Thomas declares, “My Lord and my God!”—a confession that has echoed through the centuries as the embodiment of true belief.
Each of us carries a bit of Thomas within us, wrestling with uncertainty and longing for assurance. Yet Jesus reminds us, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Faith rests not on what we see, but on trust in the living Word. Today, the same Savior steps into hearts locked by fear, offering peace, strengthening faith, and turning doubt into worship. How might you invite Him into the locked rooms of your own heart?
