Colossians 1:24-29
Ministry is not a platform for recognition—it is an oar, a rhythm of faithful obedience as we move in the wake of Christ’s calling. Every follower of Jesus is called to step beyond comfort and into purpose, rowing through challenges with eyes fixed on eternity. Each effort, each act of service, becomes part of a journey propelled by divine strength rather than human ability.
When Jesus calls, He draws the weary, the broken, and those at the end of themselves into His mission. Rest in Him does not mean retreat; it means living with intentional purpose. Like Paul, we are invited to labor for God’s glory, to embrace the struggles that refine us, and to rejoice that our efforts are never wasted. Each stroke of the oar is an act of faith, guided and empowered by the Spirit within.
This passage reveals that ministry carries both privilege and challenge, calling and cost. The mystery of Christ dwelling in us transforms every hardship into holiness and every burden into a bridge toward eternal joy. Because the hope of glory lives within, we are not rowing in defeat but in victory, strengthened by the very presence of Christ guiding our path.
Reflecting on this truth, we are challenged: Are we willing to grasp the oar and move forward in obedience, even when the waves rise? How might embracing God’s call with faith transform the way we serve and experience His power? Every effort, when surrendered to Him, becomes part of a greater story of triumph and eternal purpose.
